Test Shoots FAQ
Question: Why have a specific set of styles for test shoots?
Answear: Test shoots usually serve two purposes: see how we work together as a team; test new equipment/lighting/wardrobe. If it’s about how we work together, then it’s better to focus on that rather than trying new things. It all depends on how the shoot goes, sometimes we work together so well that we get to try different things.
Q: Why are they all in B&W?
A: B&W is my (Bruno) personal preference.
Q: Are the photos retouched (“Photoshopped”)?
A: No. The photos you see in this gallery have no Photoshop. All is achieve with lighting and the basic editing.
Q: How many photos do I get from the test shoot?
A: All of them. Because there are usually no further editing to be done after the shoot (we edit as we go), you can get all the photos.
Q: What if I’m new to modelling?
A: That’s ok, I’ll coach you.
Q: Do we have to do all styles in the gallery above?
A: No. This gallery is an example of what is usually achieved in test shoots. We only shoot what we feel comfortable with.
Q: Is this paid?
A: No. It’s what is called TFP (Time For Prints) or a collaboration.
Q: Will I get work after this?
A: You might, but I can’t guarantee.
Q: Can I sell the photos?
A: No. These photos are for our portfolios and to promote ourselves as creatives, for social media or other platforms we’re in. If at any point there’s an opportunity to sell one of the photos we created together, we can always discuss it.
Q: What does “shooting tethered” mean?
A: It means my camera is connected to a computer so we see the photos live on a big screen (and smaller screens around the studio). It also means that we can edit a photo and the next photos will have the same edits, so the photo we see is pretty much the final product. You get to see, live, the results of what we’re creating.
Q: I’m signed with an agency, can I still apply?
A: Yes, but you should check with your agent first.
Q: How do I apply for a test shoot?
A: You can apply with a test shoot via ur444 Studios website.
